The birds covered the utility wires and the edges of roofs.

The man who shot the video was driving by when he spotted the amazing sight.

(Watch the entire video....creepy!)

This is what happens people if everyone washes their car at the same time. Let this be a warning!

I wonder if the birds are starling , we will a huge flock in our city and they'll sometime land in our yard and trees . They look like a black cloud swaying all over the sky. Spooky !

I think it might be flying bugs or mosquitoes that the birds were trying to get them to eat. There were lots of birds like that on First Nation reserve where I used to lived. It was mostly common in the summer time. So if Houston, Texas was warm, no snow. I don't know. That was an awfully lots of birds there. Wow.

i am from houston. i see the birds all over on the wire lines during winter time… thats mean they are excerised to fly before the spring time to breed.

You may be right. More birds for the bird populations. Whoa and Whew!

A little off topic, but a few weeks ago a plane took off from Sacramento International Airport, just barley off the ground when a bunch of birds were sucked into the engine causing an emergency landing. You would think the birds would be afraid of all that loud noise.

Birds have no sense. That's where the term "bird brain" comes from :giggle:

One of the image we never forget, and the hero pilot Sullenberger who saved all aboard on the US Airway flight landed on Hudson river after several birds got sucked into the engines and lost power.

We are seeing several large flocks in New Orleans too, but the locals think nothing of it.

Parrots may be the second smartest animals on the planet. Crows and ravens are very smart too. Flocking birds seem pretty low on the scale though.

I use to feed the crows and they remembered who I was b/c every time I went out night one crow would fly onto power line and start cawing to let the other crows know
there some food to eat . I had to stop feeding the birds b/c started to call for me at 5:30 AM and my neighbors were complaining ..

I saw a flock of robins in my yard today and I think the poor birds were hoping to find some food in the field that is now gone . They flew here for nothing :(
