I'm very excited, this is my first post!
Hi, My name is Nathan, I live in California. I'm learning ASL in College and I hope to become an interpreter. Now, I should mention that I cannot interpret right now. I know that many people get offered interpreting positions even before they are fully qualified and I'm sticking to my guns that I don't want to go anywhere near interpreting as a profession until I have passed the RID certification.
I think it's a beautiful language and a very important one at that. I would also like to learn more about the deaf community and how I can help spread the knowledge of sign language. I'm very excited to start chatting (Foruming?) with people and I hope you all will too
