Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of any online videos that contain fingerspelling. I can fingerspell myself but when other people fingerspell I have a hard time simply because of lack of practice. I tried looking at the quizme section at aslpro but it's so choppy and so different than an actual person fingerspelling.

I'd look at YouTube but the school computers have that blocked and i dont have internet at home.

i was more looking for a video made of someone fingerspelling rather than a video of graphics, but thanks anyway.

Ribs I think the best way to become a better finger speller is infact doing the finger spelling rather than watching it. In my ASL class my instructor said to practice as much as you can. So daily I was just fingerspelling everything. Words, things I saw street signs, any kind of sign. You slowly but surely become faster. It is too bad they block out youtube because there are a ton of fingerspelling videos!

And I just saw that you finger spell well.. But you would be surprised at how much better you can read finger spelling if you practice yours as well =)

Receptively - fingerspelling is really tough. The problem with a lot of the videos and such - they fingerspell too clearly. Most d/Deaf people do not fingerspell that slow and clear when they do it...so I hope you have a chance to practice fingerspelling skills with actual d/Deaf people- that'd be helpful for you. :)

lol, I did that until I started fingerspelling my thoughts almost unconsciously until people started looking at me strange

This is true!!! I can fingerspell decently but to read it... I'm like SLOW DOWN!!

I practice daily as Adam has a toy in the car that sings the ABC song and I can't help but do my alphabet when I hear it... even if i'm driving :giggle:
