Hi
I have cerebral palsy and only have use of one hand because of this. I have great speech thats what people think anyway:asshole:. Is fingerspelling worth it? Or is there a one handed sign lauge

The passive hand helps the dominant hand, often simply reflecting its shape and motion. If the passive hand is occupied holding a book, bag of groceries, fork, or coffee cup, people keep right on signing. It is the dominant hand makes the significant gesture.

Yeah, exactly. To take your first sentence literally, here is how to sign help.

Dominant hand - do thumbs up. Non-dominant hand - put up a 5 hand. Now, put the dominant hand on the non-dominant hand and push the non-dominant hand up.

However, you can just do the dominant hand motion and people will understand that you are doing the sign for help.

You'll still want to learn how to fingerspell, though, for names and words that don't have a sign, or even for emphasis.

I've been learning a little Australian sign language and i know that it's a two-handed alphabet that's used there...i wonder how people fingerspell when they only have the use of one hand?

Sorry to go :topic:
