Finally after all these years I've started sign class

Had my 1st class yesturday was good.

My tutor has dieplegic cerebral palsy(affects only the legs).He was really good about teaching me how to sign with 1 handed when the sign needs 2 hands normally.

BUT



I caught with another signer(her cousin's Deaf) whos been in this tutor's class and shes was like what? so I orally said "yours" is likethis in NZSL "what your sign name?" and the way the tutor taught the your sign like this
 
The second way is the same as ASL. Looks like there's variations within (BA)NZSL just like with other sign languages. On Monday I was talking to a girl who was learning and a lot of our signs for the same concept were very different.
 
I'm guessing its a bad sign that my tutor can't understand me but moves on with the lesson. There's 2 students in the class.

He was knew(we have done Disability rights stuff together) I have CP(so has he) before he agreed to have me in class.
