I've always had feedback if I press/place my finger on my microphones on my Naidas.

Anyone else get this.

My analog aids mics were completly different to Naidas so I've always wondered if this is common for powerful HAs.

Just did it - YEP FEEDBACK

That is normal, I believe. It happens to every aid I have ever owned. It would happen to a hand held mic as well.

EDIT: Note that any programmable aid is not a true analog aid as the signal is modified and you need a mic for it. I don't know of any aid that doesn't have a mic.

When I say analog hearing aid mics were different, it was because there was this gold tunnel thing over the top so you couldn't actually press down on the mic.

Picture enclosed of my analog aid. Above the ear hook, you will see the gold tunnel thing.

The feedback is coming from the distance between your finger and the loop not the actual contact, IMO. It's the same thing as covering a hand held mic with hand, I believe.

This reminds me of the old story when a patient said to the doctor, "Dr, it hurts when I do this!"

Doctor's response, "Well don't do that then!" :P
