Fangate?

Sadly, I think so. It all started, for the most part, in the early '80s, when the political ads went from promises to personal attacks. "Vote for me! I am the lesser of two evils!"
 
This is really nothing new , does anyone remember this Nixon and Kennedy TV debate ? Nixon wanted the room to be cooler b/c he was sweating so badly.

Because of the rules....the idea being, who knows what other tricks people would use to gain an advantage. The guy should have at least asked for an exception to the rule......

fan for both parties up where can be seen,or if doing this sort of thing in florda surely exception be made not to wear suits and tie

It depends on what both parties agree to, in the debate contract.

Yes, it's Florida but buildings have air conditioning.
 
Sounds like the guy was looking for a reason not to debate and he found one.

It seems extremely petty. Reminds me of the Vietnam War peace talks, where they argued about the shape and size of the negotiation table, while soldiers died on the battlefield.
