Hi, My name is Fallyn and i'm 30 years old, I'm a mum of 3, and i live in West Yorkshire in the UK.
I stumbled along this forum when i was searching about deafness ( i've currently went deaf in my left ear nearly 3 months ago )
When i went for my hearing test i found out my hearing was worse than i thought, I couldnt pick up any sounds at all in my left ear when he had the headphones on, couldnt hear the tuning fork and when he did the one where he had a speaker thing behind my hear it was buzzing in my right ear ( not sure if that is normal ) however certain frequencys in my right ear made me jump so he wouldnt do another test because of my reaction that he did in my right ear.
The Audiologist told me that there was only 50-60% of the sounds getting through into my right ear and none at all in my left ear and then he refrered me to A&E since it came on suddenly ( and he said its classed as a medical emergency ) and they fobbed me off and told me to see my own doc, so i went to see my own doc who well gave me a nasal spray and said that should work if it didnt i had go to back in a month time ( the same spray is what i use for my hay fever :S )
So i went back the other day and seen a locum who is a ENT specialist. He diagnosed me with Meniere's and gave me Betahistine to take for 2 weeks and then to see the ENT on the 11th of April.
So far i find losing my hearing pretty scary. I've nearly been ran over twice by trying to cross the road like i used to and now realised i cant really do that now.
Ive also had to stop Cheerleading atm because my balance is real bad,I cant even go to the stables to see my horses because i struggle to get up there since its all up hill, Also im a bit scared of what im going to do when i start university in September as i cant read sign language and cant lip read so im not sure if im going to struggle alot or not :(

So well thats my basic introduction lol

welcome to AD but look on the bright side, there's CI people that may pop up here, I'm sure they have been on that boat before.
