Expectations and marriages

What did you expect from marriage before getting married. Did you get what you had expected?

what did you expect and what did you get in reality after marriage ?

My first marriage, I had stars in my eyes and expected it to be all romantic every day...turns out it wasnt. However, I had no problem with it but my ex hubby did so he cheated on me. What I didnt know nor expect that the rage I experienced when finding out that my ex cheated on me can make anyone go crazy.

With the 2nd marriage, I am much more realistic about it and dont dream of "growing" old together and all that BS cuz anything can happen any day. Just enjoy each day with your spouse. That was a big lesson I learned from my first marriage.

My fiance and I have been together for 4 years, and got engaged fairly recently. We probably will not get married after 2 years or so (I'm waiting for my father and brother get back from Iraq before we get married). We've lived together for over 2 years, so we're so used to our quirks.

I doubt it will change any time soon, even if we did get married.

I think it normally affect those who got married young, right after they moved out their parents' house, or started to live together right after marriage. I'm a firm believer that you should live with your significant other for more than a year before considering marriage. You'll never know what happens.
