'I'm guilty of picking up trash': Mobile man claims wrongful arrest; internal MPD review launched | AL.com
What's brutal moves by MPD.

No where in the article does it say that he was arrested for picking up trash. They stopped him because they were investigating rash of burglaries in the area. Maybe they thought he was getting rid of stolen goods around the trash.
Then they let him go. He mouths off in front of them and gets arrested. Nothing to do with the trash.
"I'm guilty of picking up trash," Herder said.
I use to go around my condo and pick up the trash and one day a trustee came up to me and said " I am making a mess!" WTF ! I had a bag full litter people had throw on the ground and I am making a mess?? I stopped picking up the trash after that . It was horrible that cops threated the guy to keep his mouth shut!
I detest any trash in my yard...work hard to keep it nice...kids are mainly the culprits....and whenever I see someone throwing trash down (potato chip bags, candy wrappers)...I'm on their case big time....

He was asked for an identification card, which he had left at his home a short distance away. He was then put up against the squad car and "roughly" patted down.
"I cooperated," Herder said. "I was a little aggravated (but) I never threatened them. I had a bit of an attitude, but I'm allowed to have an attitude as long as I cooperate absolutely, which I did."
Police then cuffed him and placed him into the back of the squad car while the officers ran his information, he said.
He deserves to be hung by his thumbs in the neighborhood square as a lesson to others.
