Both games are entirely different.
How so?

Sure, Eternal Darkness is about some myths and legends coming to life and someday take over the human race and perhas even the WORLD!

Resident Evil, where a mysterious top secret virus was invented, and spread all over Racoon City, killing all living begins and within hours later, they "come back to life" being half live, half dead, and brainwashed only for hunger of living flesh and blood and breed mutanted organisms.

Oh yes, Eternal Darkness' gameplay is very different in comparison to Resident Evil.

In fact, Eternal Darkness is not a survival horror. It's a straight-up adventure packed with some scary elements to it. One thing that makes Eternal Darkness a very different game from any games ever made.

It's the sanity meter.

Resident Evil, simply a survival horror, nothing more.

I've never played Eternal Darkness...could you explain what is sanity meter?

Well, it's a meter to tell you how much sanity you have left. If it get lower, you'll start to see... crazy things that aren't really there.

Interesting concept, I'll say.

Oh yes..."The Thing" had a similar thing..except it was for your teammates. :p

Yeah...in "Eternal Darkness", as soon as you are losing your sanity, you are starting to see things that aren't really there...

such as blood's oozing all over the walls, bugs crawling all over the screen, the volume adjusting by itself...the game files starts to get deleted by itself...(not really but to trick you lol) and stuff like that

Eternal Darkness is no big deal. It's yawn when I compare to Resident Evil for Gamecube.
