Emerging Security Threats for Internet

since when has there not been a threat on the internet, hackers are hacking all the time, nothing new. Even with all the new and improved security features, there is always a new virus popping up every day. It will never stop.

Hackers were originated back in 80's, perhaps as earlier as 60's yup, nothing new really.

I WAS a hacker in very early 80's. Yes, I hacked several computers back then and man! it was easier back then. I have done was just harmless pranks, to prove some people back then, on how dumb computers are. I remember moment at RIT, one student made a bet with me that I can't hack his computer. I done that in front of his eyes in just less a minute and he dropped his jaw. That was back in mid 90's.

Can you tell me how many hackers are really out there?

Hint: not even less than thousands

And if you wondering if network of hackers exists? You can BET your ass on it, there are plenty of networks of hackers.

Too bad technology had advanced so much, so is complication that average users may not know.

Hmm. I find this intriguing.

Well worth sharing, I thought.

There have been, and most likely always will be, hackers. This is not new information.

The key is how to safeguard your accounts and password to minimize your chances of getting hacked. To this day, I've never gotten hacked. Had a credit card # stolen, but that wasn't even online.

so you were a hacker? did you do programming to make a script and analyze codes to find flaw?

As long as there is some kind of technology in ANY form there will always be a 'threat'. It isn't an 'emerging' threat as it's always been around. 'increasing' maybe but not emerging.

There are many kinds of hacking- Most does require some form of coding but I am sure there are some forms of hacking that does not necessarily require someone to write a script or code something.

Security is becoming big business now though- I'm seeing more and more references to security QA Testers- these testers are specialized in the testing of security features of applications, websites and whatever else is programmed/created. Went to a short lecture about it a couple months back.

I read so far 3 threads that he started but he doesn't participate in them after that.

and as long as there is sharp objects and heavy items, Guns, there will be danger lurking around the corners... doesnt matter if its electronic age or stone age... always something to worry about in this world.

We hear that they would recommend changing password every month but most people don't. Hackers get sophisticated these days and find a way, Target had a huge breach, not surprised about E-Bay. People should be vigilant on what they access online as well as using their credit/debit cards (check bank statements).

I had to change our password for eBay since it's the latest website to get hacked.

eh.. you don't necessarily have to participate in your own thread if you don't want to but it does get tiring to see so many threads. It's a nice touch though to participate and reply more as well as give likes more than receive...

Ugh.. I probably will need to change my EBay password- it's been a few months since I was last on there. Still need to look into some sort of password manager for all my devices or something.

more useless stuff as usual, then avoids them...wow

Arent you supposed to participate in your own threads?

Yes, computer hackers everywhere... everywhere always everywhere... old news per usual, they're always hacking into something because they can't work for stuff of their own because they're jerks... blarg blarg blah...

Sono... Stop encouraging!!!
