Duracell Hearing Aid Batteries

I'm not sure who all feels this way, but I think I have mentioned this here before in the forum. I'm going to put my feelings about Duracell hearing aid batteries very bluntly:

They SUCK!

S'right... they last like 3 days and they're dead... and what makes me angry is the fact that usually they are the last resort because there are no other brands and all the other stores are closed. :giggle:

Does anyone else here feel the same way?
 
:lol: I don't usually get that worked up about batteries, but it is good to have a passion for something.

Write to the company in protest and maybe they will send you some freebies.
 
At first I did not have any problems with Duracell for my hearing aid. But when I got a new hearing aid maybe about a year ago. I tried to use like number 13 (Duracell). It worked okay but sound different. Then last spring I could not hear anything from the batteries at all and I was upset about them. So I went to my audiologist and explained what was wrong and thought maybe the hearing aid was broken. He said he will send it back to the factory and have it fix. Well, when I came to pick my hearing aid up at the audiologist`s place, I found there was a different batteries (also number 13) instead of Duracell. It worked much better than Duracell, still have funny muffled sound as usual which indicated that I am Deaf for good. But when my new batteries ran out, I tried to put Duracell battery in my hearing aid. OMG, it does not work and no sound came out from Duracell battery as usual as before. That is why I decided to buy the new batteries from my audiologist instead at the pharmacy store because they don`t have the new batteries that I needed. Ugh, you are right that Duracell is suck big time. :pissed:
 
I don't wear hearing aids or anything like that, but I can attest that Duracell batteries don't last longer for me.

That is why I usually stick with Energizer and sometime Rayovac. Before I buy batteries, I always check the expiration dates.
 
Or just buy them from your local hearing clinic, they are usually cheaper there anyway. I can get a pack of 4 batteries for $2. Siemens batteries, they are far better than Duracell. FARRR better.
 
I have never used Duracell batteries, but I have had dud batteries, too. You probably got a bad batch.
 
I've been buying my HA batteries at Costco. The batteries aren't labeled but the package says "imported and distributed for Rayovac de Mexico." The batteries last about a week with my HA. Anyone who shops at Costco might want to try their batteries. They are less expensive than many other places.
 
I stopped using Duracell a while ago. I thought that quality control was much to be desired.
 
I just use the Radio Shack batteries since they were a bit cheaper locally. I get about three weeks per battery and only two and half days per pack of three batteries for my CI implant.
 
I've never used Duracell. Normally I buy Rayovacs but I also buy the Walgreens batteries, a single 1 in my hearing aid lasts me about 2 weeks (same as Rayovac) and no change in sound quality and Walgreen's brand is much cheaper.

I prefer to buy my batteries at the local hearing centre, much like yourself. The problem is, she has strange business hours so they are never open when we need them. We usually end up going to Shopper's Drug Mart, which seems to only sell Duracell hearing aid batteries. I was pretty happy when the last person who bought me hearing aid batts got Energizer. :)

And Duracell really does suck... I end up using them a lot and they usually end up having the shortest life span of any other battery.
 
I always found hearing aid batteries at the audiologist's office to be more expensive... eh I'm happy enough with the Walgreens batteries.

When I had working hearing aids, I was happy with walgreen batteries and they lasted pretty good amount of lifespan which is a 675 size batteries.

I'm curious, how much do you pay and how many batteries per pack?
 
I don't even remember. Was years ago. But the audiology batteries were definitely a bit more pricey than what I'd pay for batteries at Walmart. I don't remember how many batteries are in the pack that I normally buy from Walgreens, but they cost $6 or $7 for me, for 675's.

Interesting, I pay $2 per pack which includes 4 batteries, they are under the Siemens brand. I can go two weeks per battery without a problem, sometimes they even last 3 to 4 weeks.
 
Whenever I buy Rayovac batteries... they tend to generally last either half a month to a full to even two months.

Same here with the rayovac batteries. They last me a little over a month. I wear my hearing aids everyday. I take them out on most afternoons when I am home relaxing.
But majority of my awakening hours I have my HAs on.
