Know it's late, But this matter is now very important!
Let mme take time to expain a few trhings.
1 your state is under a law that protect your right more then maybe some may know!
As I have told you Demand your police department take formal complaint. That way your General Attorney office will get your complaint's! They will take legal action!
Also I would go back to Walmart.. Take pictures if they have a sign on their doors " Service Animals Welcome Here " this could be used in court of Law, More then maybe someone may think!
Police office can/will let party that violate ADA law, Know what they are up agaist if they don't apply! Most time the party will apply, Because they don't want to battel in a courtroom.
When you call ADA hotline they will check out your issue, Then they will contact you with an Attorney in your city and/or State !
Also Pete, I advice you to contact your State Governor, He/she may help you also! You bring this kind of issue up with them, You be surprize how much help you may recive.
