I'm not sure if this thread post is right for "Parenting". I don't mind mods can move this thread to right place so i will know where it is. Thanks :)

I am currently reading the book, "People" (date: June 18, 2007), and something catch my attention to spot a family called "Duggar". I think, maybe some of you guys have heard of them before. I dont know if you did. =P It's so amazing to read a story about a parent have sixteen children (soon will have 17 kids)!! JUST... WOW!

Here, I copied it from the mag. book.

"BIG LOVE" by Alicia Dennies -- "With 16 kids - and one on the way - Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar leave family planning to a higher power.

"Shortly after the birth of their first child, Jim bob and Michelle Duggar of Tontitown, Ark., threw out the birth control. 'We thought we'd leave the decision about how many children to have up to God," says Jim Bob, 41, a real estate agent.
"And who says God doesnt have a sense of humor? Now expecting their 17th child July 27 - a girl they plan to name Jennifer Danielle - the Duggars have a jumbo, J-named clan of 10 boys and 6 girls (inculding two sets of twins), ranging in age from 19 years (Joshua) to 20 months (Johnannah). "There is so much joy," says Michelle, 40. "I would love more."

Insanly amazing, isn't it!? 17 children?? WOW. O_O
I think that Duggar parent is wonderful to have a family. :)

As for me, eek!! I'd rather to have one child, or maybe no kids for me!! xD
I'd rather to wait until it's right time. My sister said she'd rather to have kids at young age by 20ish and up but she do not wants to have kids by the late age. Good for her. :D

So, what's your thought on Duggar family? I'm so curious.

Really???? wow i dont know that. can u show me? i want to see!! heeheh

I've read the article about them and even seen the pictures of the kids, they're all in good health and dress properly so I have no reason to judge the parents based on how many children they have, it isn't my business, that's just my opinion. ;)

I think they're just plain all together, have lots of love and support for one another! ;)

I feel sorry for children total... :(

What's wrong with adopt more children from ophan homes because they need good home... *shake my head*

Edit: I read the magazine about German married couple who have 9 children. They did not make them to work for them. It says that their children do their OWN chores. Mother cook the meal for them and wash their clothes for them... All what the children do is pick their own clothes from laundry room where the mother irons for them... They put their clothes to their cupboard themselves... and put dirty dishes to dishwasher themselves until the dirty dishes are full then switch disher on... They clean and tidy their rooms.. Mother only do her chores is cook and wash and clean different rooms except children's rooms. Mother let their children contact their friends in real world and give them freedom to learn their own experiences, also education at public school... to concern about their future than treat them child labor and hide children from real world. I :applause: that mother.... Father come home from work and do with garden work and ask some children for support... They do not brag how many children they have like Duggars... They did not ask for commericals, magazines, etc... and make money but someone report reporters to look at them... They are simple people like us who want to have babies and take their responsible on them... not burden children with adult responsible...

Didn't we go thru all this thread before? These posts look familiar to me.

There are two threads on the subject.

One thread is under "Current Events" and it's about them expecting their 17th child.

The other thread is this one under "Parenting" and it's about discussing our opinion on the Duggar family and them having too many kids.

So, both topics are technically different.

If both were related to articles on them expecting their 17th kid or both were threads related to our opinions on them having a lot of kids, then they would be merged. :thumb:

Know what I realized?

I decided to do a search on the Duggars family in AllDeaf.

A few years back, someone made a thread about them expecting their 15th child. Last year, someone made a thread about them expecting their 16th child. Now, there's another thread about them expecting their 17th child.

I wonder how long it will keep going? I can imagine threads in the future where they expect their 18th, 19th, 20th, etc... child. Eek!

Either they're just crazy or they want attention?

Heh, heh, I guess we should start a new thread for their family each time they add a new kid.

Who cares cuz it is their choice to live that way and they can afford it. As long as everyone is happy and not hurting any of us. I just wouldnt live their lifestyle and I am sure they wouldnt want to live mine.
