For anyone here on AD, if you haven't already heard, Doug Bahl passed away. He was not a member of AD as far as I know of, but he was extremely famous in the Deaf community in Minnesota and around the US.

He starred in the next ASL movie, "In the Can". He retired just months ago from teaching ASL for many years at MSAD and St. Paul Technical College.

He and his wife just retired to Arizona just this past fall. Just weeks after their move, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on New Year's Eve and passed away just 21 days later. This was just announced last night so I don't have an obituary to post yet, but I'm sure one will be coming. I'm sure at least some of you here on AD knew him.

RIP, Doug Bahl, and condolences and prayers to you and your family.

Oh im sorry. RIP I remember when I read about him that he had problem with cops. Its sad.

It has been a long time not being in Minnesota for many years. I was in Minnesota for elementary and high schools days including working days, too. I might have remembered Dough Bahl when he was younger or middle age back then. I did see his video but seem to remember him. My memory is vague, kind of a little blurry.

I am sorry that Doug Bahl had passed away. It is too bad he had short stay in Arizona. That would be great for his retirement to spent time with his wife and relax and away from the cops that hurt him badly back then. My condolence to his wife and family including his loving friends who looked up to him and respected him admirely.

May he walk into his journey into the Spirit World and be with his love ones. Rest In Peace, Dough Bahl. :(

Yes, I heard several days ago and FF is right that he was the one who had a run-in with the St. Paul police. Wasn't his fault and I think he won in court....police brutality.

Rest in Peace, Doug.....
