Don't you wish men would experience pregnancy, labour and birth........

to *really* understand what us women go through and be more sensitive and understanding why we need the support and love in getting through that stage? PLUS, at least do the share of helping with raising kids and doing household chores.

I've heard that quite a number of men don't really help out with the chores nor help the new mother with raising their child. I feel that's quite insensitive of the bloke not to help out as much as expected. You know what I'm trying to say here?

Opinions on this? I'm open to all opinions! Note: No flaming or being rude in here please!

It's just something I thought about and wondered what others think of this.

I voted no, I don't mind doing the hard work; however, I want my husband to experience the pain and shit like that because he kept saying that I'm too lazy and always sitting there when I'm so pregnant. AUGH! I kept telling him not to get me pregnant again! GRR! The unborn baby does take up a lot of my energy and I can't explain it to my husband. :squint: I sweat in a second when I do the paperwork/filing at home. :ugh: Hate that! I don't know what else to say to my husband when he's telling me to do it myself. :( If I was not pregnant, I would do it without even saying anything to my husband, but when I'm pregnant, I'm ALWAYS exhausted and sweaty, no matter how cold the air is! :ugh:!!

For the labor and delivery, I don't mind doing that, because it makes me feel brave and strong. Sometimes it scared my husband when I was squinting with pain with my previous experience. Heh.

Yeah, but this is my third full-term pregnancy, and still my husband kinda complained "about me being lazy." AUGH!

A few days ago, I told him that I had to come home right away to take a nap instead of going to the store to buy what my doctor ordered me to get, because I was this damn close to fall asleep while driving! YES! I did, thank god, that I didn't crash or anything. He told me "Bullshit, don't say that you were about to fall asleep." I kinda had to blow up at his face, screaming/signing, "Yes, I did!! You NOT THERE! Damnit, I'm so damn exhausted! I rather be safe instead on the road half-awake half-sleep! I want you drive, not me!" Yeah, that's how bad of exhausted I am with this pregnancy.

Ouch...that's part of the reasons why I posted this thread cos I wanted the blokes to really understand what us women go through with the pregnancy and birth, etc. I realise that pregnancy can be either easy or difficult -- depending on the health of the mother to be and the baby itself.
I've heard so many horror stories of how labor was like prior to giving birth...as I've never been pregnant myself...but have been told by friends who have kids how their labor went and how much pain and all.

Remember that every woman and every pregnancy are always different from each other. I didn't have any pain while being in labor and delivery my first. With my second, I was kinda in pain but toleratable (I can put up with this pain) for only two hours. Now I'm almost fullterm pregnant for the 3rd time, and I cannot predict how much pain or how long the labor will be, because my previous two pregnancies are different from each other, and I feel VERY different with this one. :ugh: More sickness and more exhaustation in this one than previous pregnancies.

When I was single, I decided not to get pregnant at all because of these scary stories I heard from my friends who are already a mom. But I thought to myself, that I'm not them, and they are not me, so mine may be different from what I heard... and I thought right. If you get pregnant, maybe your labor and pain will be very short, not like your friends' stories. Just want to let you know. :thumb:

I'm a guy of course, I don't mind taking alot of pains to feel the bond with the baby but I'm not a female so god must have created me for something...

Well i think the men needs to see for themselves cuz if they don t belive the women then its obvious the men has NO respect in my opioion that the women that gets knocked up by the men who simple worked its 2 to 30 minutes to get u preggy and sits back and let's U do all the dirty work makes a man look like he's a GOD Sorry doesn t work that way!

Right on, Java! ;) Exactly the sort of thought that urged me to create this thread! :applause: I really hope in the very near future, there'll be a device invented that could transfere labour and birth pain from the mother to the father, so they'd experience what their significant other's going through at the moment.

Would be cool! :) Hey, AD'ers...don't think that I've gone , just wishful thinking! ;)
