:ty: for posting, Reba - amazing and touching pictures! I've seen shots of those K9's jumping out of the planes before but that degree of ability and training always amazes me.

Yes...puts my doggie (a Pom) to shame...if I put her into the passenger seat of my car instead of the driver seat...she gets confused....she's used to getting in the driver's seat and hopping over the console. At 7, I feel her jumping and hopping isn't good for her legs and back...good for her heart tho', but not to the excess.

OMG ! My Standard Poodle was so smart it kept me on my toes.
He was trained in a prisoner training program and I met the prisoner that trained my hearing dog . He said when he heard he was getting a Standard Poodle to train he could only think of is a bimbo dog b/c of the way poodles are groomed with big poo poo hair . The guy said he never seen just a smart dog and had a blast training him.
I was throwing a ball for Finlay in the back yard and he kept jumping and putting his front legs out and I was thinking what on earth is he trying
to do . He did this until he finally caught the ball with his legs and he broke out into a big smile ! He had caught the ball like a person !
I believe the poodle have the ID of a 15 yo. People came up to me in stores and said my dog behaved better than some kids in a store.
 
Saw big poodle. Today really lovely dogs I don't see big poodles much that dog remember me from yesterday came up said hello...so wish poor animal not had that lion cut make them look not very matcho

I like the big standard poodles, too. My grandmother had one, and he never had a lion cut or any other fancy cut, and he looked fine.
 
That look just right as they are.
I sure I posted this today but might put it in different thread.i was listing off different jobs dogs do.1 obviously deaf for 2 blind3 marcotics4 border control dogs,5 hunting dogs 6 sniffer dogs 7 cancer dogs yes they being used smell cancer8 cadaver dogs9 security 10 police dogs11 explosive
 
Finlay had the puppy cut , I told the groomers not to give him any pom pom on his tail . I had Finlay fur cut like this and a groomer gave him a
pom pom on his tail and he hated it too ! I can't stand the lion cut but some poodles had their fur cut that when they were used for hunting dogs.
This kept they from getting stuck in the bushes . This happen to Finlay once when a ball I threw landed in a berry path , the harder he pulled the more
he got stuck . I have to free him from the berry path and carry him out.
