Does anyone use a chat engine for their busines website??

All of my employees with the exception of my father are hearing. I'm thinking of implementing a chat engine so that my customers can chat my admins instead of calling the numbers - and that way they can connect with me other than email. well. when i am at college.. taking business presention class.. we did use video conference.. with a group of 3 or more people.. can be 30 people. or more.. yeah its an amazing techlogy.. instead of going flying other places and waste money... however this techology cost near $10,000 for a nice smooth one.. but can get a so-so one for $2,000- $3,000

If you want to set up a chat system for "in house" communication, (between you and your coworkers) setting up a Jabber server would probably be best.

for customers contacting you, you might want to try something like liveperson.com and there are other services that are similar.

Are you considering text chat or video chat ?

Either can be done pretty simply. I will wait for clarification before I elaborate.
