I have this RAYOVAC tool set for my hearing aids which I have never used.

The cleaning tool are useless for me as I just put my moulds in warm soapy water over night which does the job. The only reason I was keeping it was for the magnet to use with the batteries. I have never used that as well.

Do anyone find magnet useful for BTE hearings aids? In what way have you found it useful (situations)?

I use them when i use the phone all the time, they help kinda but its still hard

I've never even heard of HA battery magnets - what do they do ?

I'm guessing it takes the battery out of the hearing aid? Could've came in handy when I wore the Phonak Claro hearing aid, battery was a sucker to get out of that hearing aid.

That's what I thought - I've never had any issues with my Phonak (13battery), it's very easy to remove and replace.

I was confused by Ausrider's comment regarding using it with the phone ??

I thought that NaidaUP was refering to the little black magnets that come with the naida's, they magnetically stick to the outside of the HA and switch's them into a louder mode so its a bit easyer to hear on the phone. They are the only magnets that came with my naida's

I didn't get any magnets with my Naida, but if I put headphones on over my Naida, it automatically switches over to telecoil (like when one is on the phone). I know my audie set that up for me in hopes when I used my telecoil earhook, it'd just automatically switch but it never did. But it sure switches with the headphones!

You can get these magnets to help pull or put in the battery in your hearing aid.

They come in Phonak BTE hearing aid care kit. In the UK anyway.

Never had any use for it or any of my tool kit.

Going to give it to someone who would use it.

Are they round and black?

I've used the battery magnet once, when my lovely husband put the battery in the wrong way, it wasn't strong enough to get the battery out, but enough for me to get another tool in there to get the battery out. now for my daughters aids, I often use the other tools with that kit (I think I got mine for $5 at walmart). Her vents are so small on her earmolds, that the tiny little plastic piece works wonders for getting ear wax out! (Hint to parents with small children!)

I use the Rayovac pen style one where you click the magnet out to pick up the battery and then click it away again like a standard ball-point click pen and it drops the battery. I use it because I cannot pick up an object as small as a battery. If you can handle the batteries then it's probably not a lot of use, I think the idea is to reflect that most hearing aid users are older thus will also have arthritic hands and have trouble grasping batteries.
