I have the Naida S and love the enhanced sound recover and enchanced whistle block.

My Grandma passed away at the beginning of the year and she had the old Naida UPs and end of last year she upgraded to the new Naida S UPs.

My family have decided to give them to me to have as back up instead of selling them.

I'm just wondering if Naida S has better sound quality then the old Naida as things are enhanced in the Naida S? Anyone upgraded and found the Naida S to be better?

I'm hoping my Audi can transferred my details across in to these aids. Not too sure if he can with the old Naidas.

Yes you can you just won't have some features of the Naida S like zoom. I have the naida UP and it sound way better than the SP on my left ear! loads better actually. But I believe the sound may be a tad better with the S chip and there are more features..i think that's it tho..but your audiogram and the way it works would be the same minus some sound quality i think

Thank you Alicia. I'm sure they will be fine and as back up, I won't have them on all the time.

Do you notice a huge different between the SP and the UPs? Just been curious now as know your left is the better ear and your right the worse. :) Even if you are not hearing well out of both ears, do you feel like you are hearing with both sides with one SP and one UP, and not one? I always feel like I'm just hearing with my right side. My left does nothing now really.

Oh there is a HUGE difference b/w the SP and UP in my opinion. They are supposed to sound the same but I believe the UP sounds much better even if overall they don't give me much benefit. The UP is definitely more powerful than the right and does its job...but I have recruitment issues in both ears so sound bothers me a lot because its amplified...so turning up the volume if I can't hear something doesn't really help me unfortunately ..it just makes it worse which is why I'd rather a CI for my R ear.

I don't quite understand why Phonak made the SP as power issue is tiny between the two and bigger batteries in the UP means longer battery life, although mine only last a week.

yeah besides the UP takes up a 675 and the SP takes a 13, like me.
