Is it different with Freedom and Nucleus 22?

In next month, I have going to audiologist and get some questions from them about CI and HA.

I asked parent to call insurance companies for replace the damaged internal CI and they will accept to cover but I remember that about them because they aren't accept to cover for replace and upgrade into Freedom at first time.

For right now, I don't feel like to get replace but still wait and see.

I'm concern about attitude issues at Gallaudet but some students are bash on other students who wear CI and haven't found out what happen.

I don't think it would be possible for you to be replaced with Nucleus 22 since as far as I am aware they don't continue to implant people with older implants once a new one has come out. It might be different in the US though?

If you do decide to go down this route after checking out the HAs option I would keep it simple for your insurance company. Just ask for a replacement internal part from the available choice and the Freedom (or AB if that's your choice) software will come with that automatically.

Not sure what to say about Gally....if it's true that they are attacking students with CIs (this could be just a rumour) then I certainly wouldn't want to be in such an intolerant environment whether I had a CI or not but that's just me. I would check out whether it's true or not.

I need replace into new internal CI because too damage from MRI scan, rubbed with football helmet and layer isn't strong or not deep enough. It's likely to got one small bump on head, and it was CI.

I thought that my surgery for CI isn't good compared to other CI users.

Are you asking if you're the only one with a bump where the implant sits? You know all people are different, I do have a bump where the implant sits under the skin. I also have a spot where the skin is thin. That's not that unusal from what I got from my dr. For my mc helmet I'm thinking of pulling the lining down and hollowing out a spot for the magnet, otherwise it hurts when the helmet is on for longer then an hr. But it's much nicer riding with the CI on, you can hear traffic coming up behind you. :)

Yea, I have small one bump but few of my friend have almost no bump because CI level is deeper to make flat and they said that my doctor isn't good.

It don't hurt CI when wear football helmet but one manager tried to found out about helmet and too tight for my head to rubbed the CI, and it doesn't feel pain.
