Introduce myself ????? LOL
OMG my brain cells are bouncing all over the place, I looked thru the thread and could not find my introduction..... :dunno:
Sighhhhhh at the risk of sounding like a re-run I wll take the risk :whistle:
I am a Deaf woman originally from the USA/ Illinois, but I now live in Holland ( not Michigan) I met my Dutch partner on line back in '99..I moved to Holland less than one month after 9/11...scary time.....
I am actually looking for other deaf EXPATS.. who may have moved from one country to another for whatever reason,, If you are one of them or you know some one who is,, please feel free to PM me ..Thanks so much..
I am really looking forward getting to know some of you in AD :)

Interesting that you moved to the Netherlands! May I ask why? If you don't wanna say on here, just PM me if you want to.

If you read my introduction u will see that I met a Dutch guy on line back in 1999...difficult heck yeah.. the Dutch deaf are very cold people,, but thats ok . I have a very large circle of America, Scottish,Australian, and Canadian friends who also moved to Holland for LOVE ...... :hug:
Sure the culture in Holland is different, went thru Culture shock ... the language is a pain in the butt, thankfully I was not FORCED to take the language like my hearing expat friends,, the truth is,, they didn't know what the heck to do with the likes of me..... thats ok too ,,,,, I have picked up a little of the language on my own . its a difficult and complex language,,
I miss the USA . but we spend 4-5 weeks every year visiting family and friends there.. and packing up all my favorite American goodies and bringing them back :) ( pssssssssst the Dutch food is sooooo bland LOL )
U can ask me any thing either on here or on PM,, if I feel it is a bit too personal Ill do it via PM :angel:

Hiya I am in the North part of Holland actually on the coast,, ( North West ) small village called Limmen...where do your friends live ??

No I do not live in Amsterdam but I am 27 min from Amsterdam, as for thieves hell they are every where,, pick pockets are in every country in the world, so it is not just in Holland but every where ,,,,,,, even the USA too :whistle:

I just made a friend with American who live in Holland as well at other forum few days ago. She married a Dutch and live in Holland. If you interesting to meet her then PM me...

I married a German and live in Germany since 1985.
