Did anybody see this

I think this is old actually..i really would hve liked to see the episode tho..i cannot view it from here in canada its restricted..but ya. I don't get it cuz in one clip she has her cell phone to her ear and then she says she texts only..it was a bit contradictory lol..
 
i also saw this program and was confused by the fact that she said she was "deaf" yet used a cell phone. (a sighted-hearing friend told me this)
 
She is pretending to use the phone.

The irony I see in the show is that the girl is a "talker" and the boy is a "signer", but when the boy finally uses his voice, he sound just as good as the girl! Someone, somewhere told her that her voice was good, and someone told him his wasn't. They had to caption everything she said because it was unintelligable.

interesting because what i heard was that the guy used a terp to voice for him while the girl didn't. i admit that i didn't really hear alot of the guy talking alot in the program, so i don't really rememember what his voice sounded like, but i do know it was terped by someone his age who had "normal" hearing.
 
also, the girl relied alot on lipreading, texting and vibration (more than she admitted to in the show), so even though she may have been raised orally, they both were using alternative means of gathering the same information.
 
Shame i can't see the MTV video as i am outside US and is not permitted to watch it!
