Hello, I'm an industrial design student at Carnegie Mellon University and for my senior project I am designing some sort of product that would enhance the way the Deaf and HoH experience music. I am considering doing something with vibration and bone conduction. I would also like to incorporate some kind of visualizer to the product, but I am not sure if it is very important.

If you like listening to music and have a minute or so to spare, could you please fill out this quick survey.
It would be of great help to me:

I will post a few sketches of some of my ideas very very soon. So if you can give me any feedback about my design, that would be great!

Thanks a lot!

I am very serious, and yes I saw your post too. I've been working on this topic for over a month now and have visited the deaf school in my area to do research. There are thousands of industrial/product design students out there, so coincidences are bound to happen. I've seen two students in completely different countries and schools design the same exact thing, literally.

But please take note that I am not designing an instrument, just a device solely for the enjoyment of music. So sorry to rain on your parade.

Ok, that's fair enough, I was just a little surprised to see such a similar project just after I posted about mine. Anyway, good luck with your project, I hope it all goes well.

You've probably seen this, but just in case, this is something I came across when researching my idea: New device can help the deaf feel music

Hi guys... am a Graduate Industrial Designer at RISD.. also working on a project, but mine is more general and targeted to age between 2-18. I also got drawn into music, however I am also looking at the cultural aspect and how sound vibrates and resonates, so am not necessarily designing against you guys, more so besides you.... any resources online that you would recommend?
