Hi. my name is Chris and i'm from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am new at this whole internet thing and i am looking for friends for chat and conversation. I was born deaf and went to the LSU Speech and Hearing Foundation when i was three years old. I had extensive speech therapy until i was in middle school. I speak real good and read lips and understand very little sign language. I went to public schools and graduated from Tara High school in Baton Rouge in 1990. I have a very good vocabulary and very open-minded. I understand how being deaf affects alot of people and just wanted to let everybody know that it's not about what people say about us but what we feel in our hearts. Not that i have a grudge about hearing people, but i was picked on alot when i was younger and now nobody fools with me. I have a very good life and now have alot of hearing friends too. I just want to know more about my deaf culture and want to meet new deaf friends. I had some when i was in school and everybody i knew went to deaf schools and haven't seen them in a long time. So, is there anybody out there want to be my friend?

Thank you Matt for sending me a message to feel welcome. I've been to Shreveport plenty of times to play Disc Golf. Played at Clyde Fant(Veterans Park), Ford Park, Stonewall at Garland, and Highland Park. It's a wonderful heritage and great traditions out there.

Hello and welcome to Alldeaf! Looks like you enjoy playing 'disc golf', if so, how long have you been doing that? Anyhow, hope you'll enjoy your stay here in AD! ;)

If you are in Baton Rouge, you'll not find a better friend than Gerald V. He's a wonderful and most delightful friend you'll ever have in Baton Rouge (and, even, in the entire Southeastern Louisiana region).

Friendship is something I'll always offer to anyone. Camaraderie is something I'd only offer to those in the area. I offer to you camaraderie and, apprehensively, am puzzled by the inability to contact you directly.

Any way and in whatever you do, be yourself and be proud: be well and be strong.
