Two deer ran into traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge Friday, just in time for the evening commute.
California Highway Patrol officers received the call at 5:24 p.m.
The deer briefly halted the evening commute as drivers slowed to give them space. CHP received reports that one of them may have been hit.
But by 6 p.m., the officers en route to the scene were called off because their services were no longer needed and the deer were no longer in the road.
CHP Officer William Ogilvie said it’s not uncommon for calls about “animal hazards” to work themselves out before the officers arrive – animals don’t like traffic any more than humans do.
Photos on social media showed the pair making their way north, toward Marin
