Many people quantify their hearing loss by using percentage BUT this assumes that 0db is perfect hearing and 100dB is completely deaf.
In reality the decibels are a logarithmic scale and people with 110dB hearing losses can still hear a tiny bit.
My hearing loss is just about the same as yours. I usually describe it as "Severe to Profound" hearing loss. When people ask about percentages I explain that the categories (Mild, Moderate, Moderately Severe, Severe and Profound) are much more accurate.
Some people have asked me if I'm "legally Deaf". When I'm in a mischievous mood I tell them, "No, I'm Deaf illegally." Then I explain that there is no definition of Legally Deaf like Legally Blind.
