What can we do to improve the quality of posts and threads on AllDeaf?

Leave as is. Never try to tweak perfection. Just watch for insulting and flaming and stop it quickly.

Smiles!

Gee... I don't know. Everyone is different. Someone suggests something, and we try it out. Later, someone else abuses it. Someone else suggests something new, and we try it out. Later, someone abuses it. It's better to just leave it.

Secondly, we've already gotten a section called "Forum Suggestions". If anyone wants to make a suggestion on improving AllDeaf, they can post it there. Of course, all suggestions will be noted and taken into review. :thumb:

Ummmm....hmmm.....ummm....geeze I dunno, I'm lost of words at this moment..

I think AD is great! No need to improvement or anything, I just want to add little more of smiley

I like AllDeaf forum, and am loving it. I would stay up all night reading/posting around the forums. Simple amazing. No improvement needed.

And what's more, alot of people here are very openly to discuss anything! That's what I am looking for!

Members need to stick with what the topic is about, discussing a subject at hand, instead I've seen too much :topic: in the On-topic Debates. The thread no longer good to discuss because it has been hijacked by trolls. Especially in the religious forum. It's so annoying that you have to pull the thread back on it's topic because trolls just trashed it based on their own religious. Why can't they just created another thread to talk about it's own religious instead of hijacked a good thread that is no longer good in reading.

I second that afterall. It's best to leave it alone. :)

needs more hot chicks. seriously.

 U dont know if we have hot or not chicks around here as everyone here does not show their faces.

Improving the quality of AD?? Are you refering to grammar (not going to call out anyone sometime its hard to read if one type so badly) or debate itself ??? :dunno:

AllDeaf ROCKS ! so it doesn't need to be improved. I saw several other forums but Alldeaf is the best one based on public sharing. All we can do is that we should avoid insult, bashing and bickering etc.

I havent been here for long nor have I made copious amounts of posts. I do know that there has been some drama in the past of AD from reading old threads and what not. but the past is the the past, forums like people change. AD has gone through change and it seems to be going through a change now with lots of new members signing up and alot of the older members visiting less frequently.

If you want meaty topics, then post a meaty topic. You can make the forum what you want it to be. If a troll comes on and attempts to hijack your thread - skip over their posts and continue on in the direction you originally intended for the thread.

I personally think the occassional silly thread is OK, and the occassional hijacked thread is nice as long as it eventually gets back on topic, sometimes a serious thread needs a good dose of humor and thats fine, but like some others have said - not every stinking one.

I would like to see more meaty topics myself not just in the debate section, but in most areas. This is a deaf forum, lets discuss Deaf life.

And if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What can we do to improve the quality of posts and threads on AllDeaf?

I noticed that you joined here in 2003. You re telling us that way back then, older posters are much better than posters of today? And AD has been deteriorating ever since you came back from your one or two years hiatus ??

Hmm. What about someone who isn't a moderator posting to say the thread has been a repost? Report me to the moderator, ok..post the link to the original thread, ok.. it is kind of a turn off when I post something I find interesting a person or two may post in that thread to say it is a repost and that someone else's thread had something interesting about my topic that the person wouldn't even be specific about in my "repost" thread. No links, nothing. It just goes downhill from there, and I'm less motivated to talk about something I find interesting. Heh.

My thoughts on improving this? If you have to tell someone they reposted something, at least remember to add the link to the original thread or even be more specific about what you found interesting in the original thread. Report to a moderator, even... and I expect that moderator to tell me where to find that original thread. I won't bite! The point is kinda just to have a discussion, right?

All I can say here, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Alldeaf has some quirks and there's no such thing as a perfect forum.

:) In some ways, yes. But that's based on 2 years ago. Now, I am wondering if AD's the same, improved or deteriorated?

ive been here since 2003 and lately AD has deteriorated which has occured over some time -- too much drama and other BS ive been seeing across the boards leads me to not post very often in here anymore
