Hi there,
I'm a freelance writer based in NYC and I'm currently working on a story about ASL interpreted music. One of the people I spoke with mentioned that there are deaf music clubs where the experience is tailored to deaf or hard of hearing people - the music is pumped (especially the bass) and there are sound sensitive lights. If you know of a place like this in the NYC area, or if you've been to a club like this (anywhere), please feel free to share your experiences with me. Also, if you're a fan (or hater) of ASL interpreted music or videos, please feel free to contact me. Thanks so much!

I dig ASL interpreted music! I watch them on YouTube when available.

Wish I knew what this place is because I haven't heard of any and I don't live far from the city!

Maybe check this website from time to time for available deaf events in NYC: Deaf News

Katie, this isn't exactly NYC, but there is a folk fest in the Berkshires (over the border from Western MA) which has 'terps for all the performances. It's called Falcon Ridge. I think too that there's another folk fest....I can't remmy the name of it...Clearwater maybe? but I have friends from NYC who go there and they said there are 'terps there.

I don't know of any concerts in the West - but I'm new to the topic and I've been focusing my research on the East Coast.

Thanks for all the tips - I really appreciate it. And if you have any further thoughts about the subject please do feel free to let me know, I'm open to all ideas, questions, opinions!
