Anyone of you who are ASL users only. Curious do your children have delayed language? just curious.

My first hearing son has speech therapy in preschool for a year. The childfind program and IEP helped. Then my other kid has speech therapy for a semester. The rest of the kids picked up the language fast.
Maybe having a deaf babysitter cause my kids' delayed for short time.

Interesting. I notice that very common for my friends hearing kids who had delayed language but they picked up in no time eventually. :)

Yeah. KODAs picked up fast. it is normal. And CODA are doing well in school. Sign language help with language in class.

delayed language in ASL, you mean?

Oh, In writing skill and speaking language . Thanks for clarifying this.

OK I wanted to make sure. Yes, my son`s speech skills were delayed and he had to have speech therapy. That was when he was 2 years old and now he is 8 years old and is doing fine.

Yes, she had some problems and still has, but a year of speech therapy and kindergarden helped a lot!
New problem: she most recently stopped signing. So far nothing got her to stop talking, now my husband refuses to lip read. Well, I'm curious how well that will go.

It seems to be a common issue, but nothing to worry about as long as the child is learning to sign.

I know a CODA(my godson) and he is fluent in BSL and he is not behind in speech as he has hearing family

I raised my hearing son (I taught him to sign ASL) and he had delayed speech. He went into the speech therapy to correct his words or sentences. We were living in Riverside and Panorama, California. Sometime his father's parents helped corrected his speech before I moved us back to New Mexico back then. I never knew he had mispronounce the words and sentences as he copied me or mimicked me.
