My wife and I are interested in operating a In-Home Day Care facility that caters to ASL dependent children. (Ages 2 - 6)
My wife has operated a day-care/preschool for the last 20 years so we know what we are doing in that capacity. We have both completed 2 years of ASL training and would like to take a larger part in our deaf community.
Does anyone have a suggestion where we should advertise & share our services for local (Phoenix) exposure. We cannot find anyone locally (via internet search) that provides day care for hard of hearing or deaf children without charging outrageous fees...
 
What places have you found that do provide services? I haven't found anyone, at least not for babies under 3, just the preschool programs at PDSD and Desert Voices (oral school). so baby is going to typical daycare. I am in Phoenix too.

To answer your question - there aren't any. Aside from Desert Voices and PDSD your options are limited to general public hearing facilities.

There was a deaf day care nanny in Chandler some time ago - but she was pricey and I haven't seen an ad in a year.

We found a wonderful ASL-based daycare through our early intervention services which took place at a school for the deaf. The school's daycare for staff had openings and they accepted 3 of the 1 and 2YO children who were in the parent infant program. It seems to be the only one operating in our part of the entire state, so very rare. So if you are looking for exposure, nearby schools for the deaf and early intervention services might be a great place to start.
 
I have a Deaf friend that runs a Daycare here in Colorado Springs if anyone needs a Daycare in this area. She is fully licensed for 24/7 provider... takes hearing kids too and they get to learn ASL..
