If I join the Diversity Club at my college, should I push for something on deafness and Deaf Culture for the college community?

Assuming that the Diversity Club refers to cultural diversity, absolutely. However, this will be next to impossible if you have no Deaf students on campus.

Yes, it does refer to cultural diversity. I am one of three students on the campus with a hearing loss.

Then I would say absolutely join the club and do what you can to educate hearing students about Deaf culture. Too many times universities without a large d/D/hh population see deafness as a disability rather than a linguistic and cultural difference. I am currently working on my master's degree and working in the student services dept. I am constantly correcting those who should know better re: the cultural viewpoint vs. disability.
