Hey, have you met or know anyone who's Deaf/Blind, not just Deaf, nor just Blind? I have never met anyone, and I would love to.

I have read about Helen Keller, and I find her fantastic!

I wonder if they would be able to understand me if I sign to them when their hands are on my hands. Ya know what I mean? Well, tell me what you have experienced. :thumb:
 
yes i have several friends who is deaf/blind .. they are pretty well educations better than the past ... they are just almost like us .. of course they require to have hand to hand to feel to understand the commicate ..
 
Yes, I know several who is both deaf and blind.. they were able to understand me with no problem while I signed to them with their hands on mine.. It was interesting how I communicated with them..
 
When they sign to you, do you understand them as well? I mean do you have to put your hands on theirs to make sure that they know you're listening or what?
 
I used to know a man who were totally blind and deaf. He had an assistant who would follow him around and sign while this blind man were feeling the signs. He was very accurate especially if the assistant signed very fast. I found him a really cool person.
 
Oh yeah, i knew someone who had an assistant with him.. his mother :p If he couldn't understand the signs, his mother would help out.

Used to? What happen now? How come you don't know him now?
 
Do they always have assistants with them? Even in their personal routes, like personal hygiene?

They always have assistants with them when they go to places..I don't know about personal hygiene... :dunno:

i know two of d/b doesn't need the assisant at all .. they are very independ and knew where they are ... OFC they require to bring their vision guide dogs

Ah,... isn't that on the wrists, not the hands? Oh well, I guess they have more powerful touch sense than Deaf do, don't they?

What about if they're traveling? Will they be able to know where they are if they are in a new situation?

there u goes... that remind me one true story which i was there ... someone talk to d/b about something and that d/b caught him off which d/b was blow his mind and rebuke on him ENUFF LIE !!! that which freak me out about that... so i decide to ask him how do he know if that person tell truth or not ??? he say just simple feel the pulse and hands movements like reaction ...
