Short and fat. Look a bit like a badger, but with a much kinder temperment. Deaf in left ear, very very hard of hearing in right ear, wear a hearing aid that doesn't really do a very good job. And I can't read lips to save my life so don't tell me, "Have you ever thought of taking up lipreading?" But I can speak well enough abeit with a deaf accent that people seem to think is a German accent, or a South African accent, or a Southern Accent, or a Yankee Accent. No, really! I graduated from NTID in 1980 with a BFA in painting and commercial arts. Dropped out of master program six months later.
I started work for Origin Systems as a computer graphic artist in 1991. In 1996 those scallywags at Electronic Arts outsourced my job somewhere to the far side of the world. Later I worked as a medical illustrator for a small medical center but lost my job to cutbacks. So now I do freelancings whenever I can.

:welcome: here and I am a Texan myself. The best thing you can do is to go to a community college and get certified in another job or go to your local union hall http://www.texasaflcio.org/ and ask about Apprentice training classes and set it up with an ASL interpreter and get certified and graduate from the job training courses and go to work, get paid really good money. Ask your vocotional rehabliation center about new hearing aids as well as job training funds if necessary. God Bless !!!!!
