What's the darkest chocolate you've ever eaten?

I just ate a piece of 90% dark chocolate. Whew!

A few weeks ago, I had 86% dark chocolate.

Last year, I had 80% dark chocolate.

I am not sure % of the chocolate I've ate. When I was about 12, and I had double chocolate cake or ice cream (I don't remember but I do remember it was very very rich chocolate). MMM! I could not eat all! It was a HUGE! Good for 2-3 people to share. Yummy restaurant but they closed. :( I don't remember name of the restaurant. Drat!

Next time I will look at % so I'll know I've tasted that strong and rich!

I've had cocoa in it's pure form. It's very bitter! 86% is a good value for me for dark chocolate. 90% is pushing it.

it comes down to personal preference. I seem to like the ones in the 8th percentile range.

wow. i think i had last 80 percents. i did not know you are into the dark chocolate!

I tasted all of bitter chocolate except 90%. I prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate.

I'm not a chocolate person. If I were to have chocolate, it would be one time... preferably the richest flavor possible.

I don't go out and buy chocolate candy bars or M&Ms all the time. The last time I actually had chocolate was a few weeks ago when I tried the 86% dark chocolate. Before that was during Christmas when they had those Hershey Special Dark mini-bars that my mom had in a bowl in the kitchen.

Other than that, I usually go for chocolate if it's mixed with something like peanut butter (not peanuts or any nuts) or caramel. For instance... Reeses... Peanut Butter M&Ms... Caramello... etc.

Oh. But I am happy to see someone else do eat dark chocolate more and more than years ago. :D therefore those people who makes chocolate and will make better with dark chocolate. I would love to see any kind of flavored goodies go with dark chocolates such as, raspberries, cherry, peanutbutter, coconuts, nuts and more lately. So you enjoy tasting the dark chocolate right.

I think the highest I had was 85% dark chocolate! I love Dark Chocolate.... my fav! I never liked milk chocolate, only Dark Chocolate! I love it how it melts in my mouth!

There's a store at a mall near here called Godiva. I was looking for something darker than 80%. Since the last darkest chocolate I had before 86% was 82%, I thought they might have something darker. They did... 85%.

Unfortunately, it was $2 just for a very small piece... the size of a Reeses mini-cup. *groans*

Then a couple days later, I went to Walmart and saw that they had 86%. So, I got that instead... $2 for a WHOLE bar! Hehehe!

Now, I got the 90%... still $2 for a WHOLE bar! (Actually, $2.14...) ;)

oh yes Target sells too. i think they tastes much better than godvia. i used to be a big fan of godiva, for some reason. my tastes has changes and toward to hershey and dove more. I know hershey puts too much of sugars in it but thats OK. iknow hershey will stay alive for a long time. Godvia is a joke to me. sorry to say it. Hershey rocks.

I LOVE the DARK too - chocolate for me should be 80 percent or better. The darkest I had was 92%. I wanna try the raw chocolate-

Where did you get the 92% dark chocolate?

i'd believe it, also the Best chocolate in the world (not speaking of darkness, but sheer quality) are from Switzerland. I had some of them and they are mind blowing good. Those melts in your mouth like no other chocolate. Im not kidding

As Moondrifter mentioned, I'd add that sturdy red wines are mellowed out better with anything sweet, very sweet, and chocolate happens to be one of those (not sure about the cocoa/chocolate in pure form though) sweet caramel, toffee, licorices are amazing with Shirazs, i think turkish delight goes real well with Merlot. might have to do with dark and spices as shiraz tend to have a more peppery presentation.

i have a 72% here, a 90% must be quite elusive, wow i think id stick with a 85-86% as limit. but it could be due to how well its made, as on top of its purity. To really know this I'd just have to try it if i muster one into my hands.

It was either farmer's market or co-op. I know my co-op has the raw chocolate.

My favorite in this case would be a 99% Lindt BUT only WITH cup of coffee... elseway eeewww ;)

Darker chocolate is natural that give you more awake than drink coffee.

You've had 99%? Where?
