I couldn't help but laugh to those who thinks faster router would make modem run faster. This is MYTH!


Modem speed is set by your own ISP! Yes, I mean they (ISP) have set the speed on your modem. No way you can change that speed unless you know the username and password to get in modem and change speed.


Look this way, cable modem tend to set 10MBPS (I am talking about average) download and 385KBPS (Or .385mbps) for upload speed, and your router speed would be 100MBPS, that is ten times faster than modem yet your STUCK with 10MBPS though the modem.


The only true for router to run faster is that IF you got lot PC inside the network, for example office that got 100 computers, that is WHEN router would make difference.
