DEVELOPING STORY: Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the 52-year-old woman known as the "D.C. Madam," is believed to have committed suicide at her mother's home in a trailer park in the Tampa area, Tarpon Springs Police told FOXNews.com.

Palfrey was found guilty on April 15 by a D.C. jury of racketeering and money laundering related to her operating a house of prostitution. Palfrey had threatened to reveal the names of her clients — many believed to be high-profile political and business figures — if prosecutors went forward with their case.

Well, she had stated that she would kill herself before going back to prison. Evidently, she was dead serious. (No pun intended:giggle:)
 
I bet some politicians in D.C. are happy about her passage cuz their names would not be leaked to media.

The phone records, which exposed David Vitter - a Republican Louisiana Senator among other politicians, and the "black book" is still live ammo. However, I believe her family does not want the media spotlight.

Her mother found her - what a horrible thing. It is many a parent's fear that they do not outlive their child. No one can say, at the Madam's funeral, that she did not keep her word - an honor that many politicians do not seem to have.
 
I probably would do same if they send me to prison for very long time.. I dont want to get "raped" or beated by prisoners daily basis. A possible 55 years sentence is basically same as death sentence in my opinion.

Best advice I can give is: Dont do the crime...

Yes, it was awful. I heard the 911 call on TV news. The poor mother was hysterical. She said that she found her daughter hanging, and "I can't get her down. I'm 76 years old," and she was sobbing. It was heart breaking. :(
 
55 year sentence is max.....a crime like this she wouldn't do max maybe five in a nice place...plea bargaining....good time....same as Hiedi Fliess.
it probably started out small and turned into a big ring......can't turn off a good thing....still amounts to a crime syndicate.....some wanna call it 'having fun' cuz it involves sex....but this is what mafia thrived on....pimps thrive on....just cuz it upper class doesn't make it any better. She didn't need to do that to her mom.
Sad story really...especially the mom seeing that.
