Hello. I joined this site because my aunt is deaf and I would like to know more about how to help her with a few things. She is elderly and lives by herself. I live near by. She has been complaining about hearing loud noises and feeling vibrations. She'll call me to come over, and check it out. I don't hear anything and the only vibration I feel is from the refrigerator.
I know how frustrating it must be for her, and I would appreciate any feedback. Maybe someone experiences this also, and/or knows what can be causing this.
Thank you... Heidi

Your aunt could have tinnitus and deaf people do feel vibration more than hearing people . Does she get dizzy too? Do you know if she been to an ENT doctor recently and does have someone to help set up her doctor appointment ? You could check into getting her a health aide or visiting nurse check up on your aunt.

Does she have alarm clock with vibrator and fire alarm with strobe light? I agree with whatdidyousay! about getting a health aid or nurse to visit your aunt for welfare check.

Thanks for responding. She does get dizzy often. She has seen a doctor about this. I have to get more information from her or her daughter.

Oh dear that not good getting dizzy a lot and living alone. You could suggest to her daughter that her mom have a lifeline to wear. A walker would help give her support when she get dizzy.
