I don't know that most public universities don't have curfew policies, such as Gallaudet, CSUN, UCLA and more but one member said about NTID that students who start freshmen and require to live at dorm until 25 years old, and adopt curfew policy for them who live at dorm in NTID. I just like WTF at NTID about stupid curfew policies at dorm.

That's no fun.

I know there are students who are growing frustration and not happy with the curfew policy in dorms but they can always rent an apartment along with some friends who attend the same college as they do, my youngest sister did that by renting an apartment when she was away to college, she could do almost anything she wants, even had her freedom without having to worry about anything...Some students just want their freedom, and for that I can understand

no, it is not until 25 y rs old.
The exception will be grant if your over 25 yrs old, or you already live in dorm for 1 year minimum.
curfew applies to EYF student, but I don't know about regular student yet.

What's EYF?

I think the reason behind that is that because in the past many deafies did con some students, do criminal activities in dormitiory, that is why there is curfew there. I know one guy who lied to many of newbie student about his dad dying in california and collects around 4,000 dollars in single night.

oh god, you have twisted this wayyyyyy around!

Curfew policies at the dorms: its basically the most simplest rule as it applies to all towns too with their quiet hours, mostly no disruptive noise after 11 so others can sleep and so on........... youre not restricted to come and go whenever you please just like a freaking apartment, geez!

FOR RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: if youre considered a first year with your college credits then youre required to live on campus and I do believe in this requirement due to first year experiences of everything a typical college student goes thru, its basically I think to keep the students safe and well fed. There are many cases when you can waive the requirement- such as being a first year physically but ALREADY have second year consideration in college credits from your community college or high school prep courses OR youre at the age of 21-25 (not sure) OR you already live within driving distance from school *50 miles limit-I think*

seriously do your research before spreading panic all over with the seniors in high school, its not funny when youre a senior and trying to figure out what to do with life.

No, It don't applies at dorm in Gallaudet and most public univeresities.

You know better that there's not enough website to find out, and I had googled for around 2 hours then non of them are found. What hell are you doing to call panic? I'm not panic about issues with curfew and you don't know about my feeling. All of your policies aren't applies to Gallaudet, CSUN or UCLA but it's YOUR university, not for us.

Please don't tell me about apartment... I prefer to live in dorm since no curfew policies. You don't REALIZE about at hotel and that where many hearing people are sleep at hotel and nothing to get sounds. I don't need curfew policies because we are older enough and need reason to leaving at night due alot of activities in off campus or something.

I'm not senior anymore, I already graduated in last June 2006.

Uh no, my younger sister is not deaf, therefore it does not apply only to the deaf students, but to most college students who lives in dorms, my sister told me that they had this policy cause student arrive to the dorm late such as 2 am etc, and some students have parties late at night also, she did not say anything about criminal activities or so...

Right!!...That what my younger sister said also and thats inculding having " late " parties too..

Hmmm to get control of late arrival from parties, I didn't think of that but it could be one of the factors involved.

Gallaudet's residence halls have curfew such as visitor must be leave at 12 am and 2 am on the weekend, music (quiet hour) at 11 pm, but few residents always stopped by RH office and complained abt loudest music at 3 am and I have to go whichever room(s) used music to tell them keep it low... And many more policies/curfew around on Gallaudet's residence halls while bedtime or sleep with gf/bf dont have any curfew...

curfew never, you are 18

since when did this happen? I have never heard of a college having a curfew

You never heard? Did you forget your deaf?

Really yes, it is fact, I read newspaper and I find it interesting, many university is battling number one crime in universities, Know what it is? Underage drinking!!!! Some thinks curfew is best solution to combat the underage drinking! And some of them have established these policies.
