Howdy allDeafies!

I am from Langley BC ( half hour from Vancouver BC, Canada)

I am HOH but prefers to be called Deaf...
Funny thou.....when I was born...
I was about 4 months old while my mom was taking me
to the Doctor for a physical checkup etc....
The doctor said to my mom.... 'I have good and bad news
about Jan' ( that s me! :giggle:)
Mom said hmmm first the good news then the bad news...
the doc said - 'the good news - Jan is a great healthy baby...
the bad news - she may be deaf '
Mom laughed!! She said to the doc 'I already know!!
because I have a deaf brother! and that is the bad news!??'

So now here I am and so glad to have a deaf uncle
for our great communications when we have family gatherings!

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Wow, that is a good story about what your mom told you when you were a baby. I would love to see the doctor's face when he learned that your mom have a Deaf brother and very glad that she had you for a Deaf son. He must have been shocked.
