About 2 years ago I had my gallbladder removed.. didnt tickle one bit.
Recovery wasnt bad, but did take awhile.

Well, a few weeks ago did some shoveling ( dirt for raised garden) after awhile just felt like I was punched in the side, just an uncomfortable feeling.

so all has been fine since, but 2 nights ago I woke up with a bad pain/cramp in my right side in the general area, it really hurt, had some muscle spasms going on and all, it really hurt, went back to bed. Got up in the morning and was still sore, felt like a stabbing pain at times...
I know there are 2 metal staples in there sandwiched between my liver and pancreas... just wondering if something might be amiss? Doc told me when I was released way back when I can resume normal activities, but has there ever been issues with the staples causing problems like rubbing or cutting into tissues? Maybe I just pulled something since I am severely out of shape for labor work?

Oh wow, thank you for warn me to not remove my gallbladder because of nasty complication, even my GI specialist strongly not recommended too.

Got heartburn? I strongly RECOMMENDED you to not get Nissen surgery because of complication - dumping syndrome (diarrhea and cramping everyday) and difficult to swallow. It doesn't work for indigestion and burning sensation when burping.

It is better to stay on medicine, lifestyle change and diet change.

Thanks Caz... I looked it up and sure enough thats whats happening...geeze, all I want is more surgeries...NOT...lol

if you no fart then that serious....had adhesions after operation myself years back not nice...I would put bet on it that what you got

Fox, my gallbladder was shot. It was full of sludge and had some stones due
to the pain meds Ive been on for years. I got sick every time I ate... instantly !!!
I couldnt enjoy a dinner out, as soon as I ate I got sick... had blow outs one way or the other or sometimes both... doc always thought it was ulcers, but after several years we finally pin pointed it when I developes a new symtom of throwing up bile...nasty stuff there, bright yellow.
Now I can eat anything and no issues, I feel 100% better than before.

adhesions... hmm thanks for the heads up. That's something I'll have to watch for too as mine was taken out (same reason as Sonocativo but with 1 stone stuck in the bile duct too). I'd also be keeping an eye on the metal staples. That's an interesting thing- I don't think I had that with mine at all.

But like you sometimes I get pains like that that come and go. Not fun. It's been 10 years for me this year.

The only other thing I was going to mention was possible appendicitis- if the pain is in the lower right quadrant and pain is sharp when you press and release- ER time.

Foxrac- I've no issues with my recovery and long term. Only thing really is to be careful what you eat and how much (that's happening more and more) at one sitting. Finding that I eat a LOT less than I used to be able to.

Did they gut you like a fish of do Lapro? Mine was done Lapro so I only have 3 small barely visable scars ( 2 on stomache and 1 in belly button)

I have underlying fear my adhesions will come back if I go abroad, noooooooooo doctor will tell you if they will come back or not....it was 5hr operation separating my adhesions another 24hours been dead so I am told so implore you to go doc...most of the time a be is twinge nothing to worry about whatever you do don't get consipated

I hope that it's nothing serious.

Ok, but there are patients with IBS had unnecessary gallbladder removed because GI specialists think it will cure the problem, but made worse.

lapro for me.

The "gut like a fish" method they pretty much stopped after around 1990 I think. I know of at least 3 people who did have this method done. One friend has a LOT of adhesions unfortunately between the gall bladder surgery and other abdominal surgery she had to have done.

I have same as you belly button and two smaller ones on abdomen. I was also young for having it (so were 2 of my friends)- they say most gall bladder victims are over the age of 40 or so. (ok so I was a year younger...lol).

I think you should at least call your doctor and see if they feel you need to be seen .

Yes, they thought that was my issue as well, wrong wrong wrong... Im glad when I finally started throwing up bile, my doc was like Hey wait... that sounds like your gallbladder is causing all this and sent me for an ultra sound... I wasnt pregnant,,,lol but had small stones and sludge build up. Said the gallbladder was shot and was comming out.

Told me not to eat anything spicey for a month or so, I had Hot wings that night I went home...lol no poblems at all.

I was 44 at the time of surgery, but the problem has been ongoing since I was 25... always told it was ulcers, IBS...ect... glad this crap is over with but dont like the pain I have been experiencing lately.

All good now

ahh mine was acute. It had actually started before that and I thought it was more of a lower back pain issue then we went out one weekend to Sonny's (BBQ omg...). Next day after eating what I had order- that's when the pain REALLY started- couldn't keep anything down and I lost 15 lbs that week (not a great way to do it ...).

Sadly gained back the 15 hmph.

Don't muck around, go see your doctor soon as, and yea drink more water, not ALOT more, just 2 glasses extra per day, say one extra when you wake up, 1 after meals, and one before you sleep, all helps, idea is to flush out toxins and 'wake up your internal' to work better...
