My own experience is that I was born in 1992 in California; Marlee was born in Illinois in 1965. We were both deaf, but I lost my hearing at two years old and Marlee lost her hearing at the age of 18 months old. I went to California School for the Deaf in Fremont, California; Marlee went to the mainstreamed classes near home. I currently go to Shasta College; Marlee went to Harper College.

Any other opinion? Us are deaf.

Thank you! :ty:

So, um basically you have absolutely nothing in common aside from both being born hearing and becoming deaf as toddlers ...

Overrated actress. I bet Academy award commitee used her disability as an excuse to make them look "good."

Anyways, back to subject -I don't see the point of comparing between OP and Martlin.

She showed a lot of talent in the movie that she was awarded the Oscar for. I can't do what she was able to do. Can you?

Marlee Matlin is a genius!! :aw:

And OP is making a huge mistake to ask people to compare her to Matlin.

One more salient point. Matlin is a modest person who does not run around begging people to compare her to others.

Hmmm..thinking about it, many famous people don't publicity compare themselves to others. At least not that I know of. :hmm:

Marlee isn't hung up on labels and prefers to talk about a variety of subjects other than deafness.

I highly doubt it. She is living in a place were a person's whole net worth is based on how one looks and presents themselves. And, she's presenting herself to an entirely hearing group of shallow self absorbed people. There is not a great many deaf/Deaf/HoH(or hearing) people who are up to the task.

It's not all red carpets and roses, it's political and superficial, you have to be a tough person emotionally to stand out in that crowd.
