Little Spider Creations had been making scary creations in Denver for 24 years, but the owner of the company says legalizing recreational marijuana changed everything. Now, he's moved his company to South Carolina.

Marc Brawner, the company's owner, says since Colorado legalized marijuana, too many employees were coming in high. He was firing too many people, and he made the decision to move to North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The main reason we pulled out was because of marijuana, " Brawner said. "Marijuana got into our industry. Half of the sculptors will come in high. As soon as we'd catch it, they'd be let go. We went through 25 sculptors. Only five of [our sculptors] either were quality or would show up unimpaired."

Brawner says you could definitely see the difference in employees work when they were high, and he says they were just not as productive and had an "it's good enough" attitude.

Yep!...Remember working with "high" employees very well.......slower...everything was funny...and "huh"? a lot...

With all the debates regarding pots, we can finally see the full effects of it in real life. Gonna be very interesting to see what happens.

This is a weird reason..to actually leave a state...
Why not piss test employees?
Am i to believe the boss and all involved actually decided to up their life and leave a state due to legalization rather then simply piss test employyes?
Facinating

Hardly....
Let me ask you a question
If pot was legal in your state tmw, would you be an instant pot.head?
Is it being illegal.where ever you are, the sole reason why your not a pothead?
(If your living in a state where its illegal of course)

As.for pots effects.
We have known them for millinia.
Its one.of the first plants we as a species domesticated....
We know.and have known.its effects for a rather long time...
Compared.to other legel drugs , booze as an example, pot is a rather safe plant to use..
Comparing the stats re emergency room visists and booze related deaths to those of pot..
Its rather clear
Should booze.be prohibited?
Does.prohibition actually work?
Did.it work for booze?

I think it just makes it easier to abuse pot. I personally don't drink cause I don't want to deal with effects of alcohol and I for sure don't want to deal with effects of pot. I don't even like to take over the counter meds unless I am really, really sick and I follow direction to the letter when taking it.

I'm just saying that now since it'll be easier to get pot, we would be able to see effects of it now that we couldn't before cause more people would have easier time of abusing it.

Alcohol and pots and all other drugs does help in some ways if it is not overdone. That is problem, no matter what is out there, it will be abused and it is now easier to abuse pot and we can see the effects of it. That is what I was saying.

Coming into work high...smoking Pot on the job....is what the article was insinuating....

Am wondering too...since it's Legal...are daycare workers...doctors...nurses....surgeons...air traffic controllers,,,etc.,etc., going to do the same?...I can't foresee a Surgeon trying to perform a life-saving procedure on someone when the surgeon is higher than a kite....

When the Law was passed, did it state that smoking Pot was legal outside of your job but not legal coming into work high?

Seems like more random testing could have been mandated at that company (and any other company, for that matter,) so the use of marijuana could have been minimized or eliminated altogether. Moving a company out of state must have been costly.

I lost something here..the employee subculture spiders and scary things Are they sculpting little fairies sort of things that sweet and lover able. That only thing I can think of.Or are their own sculptures scaring them which is the point in first place.
if they driving big fork lifts doing dangerous things then got a point same as alcherhol

There must be laws about impairment? Like being drunk? I'm sure medical professional could loose their license

Yeah...all a medical professional needs to say then..."it's Legal!"...so...if a Heart Surgeon wants to perform a transplant surgery...and comes into work high....it's Legal!...

If it wasn't Legal, he surely would be fired.....We do have laws against drunk driving....but Laws against being stoned while driving?

They only responsible for sculpture of spiders..(God knows why)

That's correct, the smoking weed is legal in Colorado but not for anyone with medical license - they could lose the license if they are too high or positive on drug test.

Medical communities are much strict than non-medical communities.

My mother has medical license in nursing and she said you could lose the license for drunk at work after medical communities file the complaint with state.

Actually...if a heart surgeon or anyone in whos care others lives are in..showed up at work intoxicated. On anything...
Legel or not...
Their wouks.be few ramifications of that behavour. And consequences..
The idea once something is legel
Its a free for all with no regard to others is a rather huge stretch. And not realiy
So
How long has pot been legel in colorodo?
How many heat surgeons are now due to pot being legel (rol eyes) are showing up for surgery with a smokin joint in their mouth?
I get it...i do
The sky is always falling for those who support peohibition..too bad for them....prohibition.or not...
The sky isnt falling....

That's OK. More work for our people in SC. :)

Just like we picked up gun manufacturing companies that moved from CT to SC. Also, WA state lost the new Boeing plant because of their unions and SC gained the plant because of its right to work law. One state's mess up is another state's gain.

I see where you are going with this, however, I must disagree...
Just because it is legal does not change the status of jobs, they can still be a drug free work place (as far as I understand). They have the same standing as drinking... You cannot drink in the smoke pit so why would they be allowed to smoke a joint?
Also, people are aware that if they screw up at work everything gets reviewed... It stands to reason that a doctor will not put his or her license on the line like that...
And there are laws about driving stones... It all falls under dui/dwi...

No difference than coming to work drunk. Alcohol is legal but if one is drunk on the job...bye bye.
