It isn't the first time a healtcare organization has been attacked nor the last. It sounds like they've managed to get it under control and taking steps to deal with it though and in this case was only isolated to that particular hospital groups.
the Health care industry has dealt with fraud and other kinds of attacks in the past (Believe me... I've seen that at one of my jobs).
I AM heartened that the medical information and credit card information were not taken though a bit baffled as to why the Social Security numbers did not flow into the same security protection as those did.
It will be a never ending battle between ANY industry and ANY sophisticated hacker from any country.
