Colorado continues to blaze major trails when it comes to marijuana.

The first ever marijuana smoking sections will be implemented in 15 of the state’s McDonald’s restaurants. They will use the existing Play Place area’s and convert them over to friendly marijuana smoke zones.

Called “smoking pods”, these area’s will allow joints, bongs and pipes to be smoked, but only marijuana is allowed, not tobacco products or cigarettes.

The pods will contain upper ventilation units, allowing the smoke to filter away from the facility and not enter the actual restaurant. Two restaurants have already launched their marijuana-only smoking pod sections, while 13 other franchises expect completion by the end of the year.

The Colorado McDonald’s will not be selling any marijuana or THC edibles as of now.

Projected McDonald’s earnings are said by analysts to skyrocket in Colorado, due to the appetite increasing effect that marijuana users experience. Marketing experts agree that this was likely a major reason for the chain to get rid of the play area’s and implement marijuana smoking pods.

Sounds a bit ridiculous to me, but ....whatever!!

Actually, I'm disgusted!...McD's was always about the Kids...now they are taking out the Play Area and using it for those who want to smoke Pot?....

Guessing McD's is just getting greedier....most pot smokers get the munchies and will order more food....:hmm:

While I am for legalization... This seems wrong. . As RR said, Mcads has always been for the children... This seems like a very bad move. .. The fact that it is only for pot and not tobacco says a lot...
I would look better on it if they just built an additional room and not take from the kids... It's not like the boost in profits would not cover the cost...

Why not have a drinking section? I'm not against pot at all but I wouldn't take my kids there any more than I would take them to a bar.

Illinois does not have recreational marijuana but a play area has been closed in the small Southern Illinois town were I live. So closing them is not all due to the marijuana smoking pods.

I think it is satirical news (hoax).

If it is real so it should be reported to CNN, NBC, FOX, etc.

Last year I read that McDonald's, world-wide takes in 75 million dollars a day.....yes, per day so I guess they feel like sales are lagging?

Not really it's a smart business move , most people get the munchies when smoking pot and that would mean people buying more food .
McDonald's it not doing too good out here , so I wonder how it's doing
in Colorado .

The only thing I know is true is pot friendly hotel that just opened in spring of this year. Anyone is allowed to smoke in hall, commons, etc. Not cheap rate tho.

Its bogus news. the laws states that MJ can only be smoked in private homes not it public facilities or businesses, venues etc. this is why there are no MJ bars in CO. I voted for the law and read it before I voted.
