I'm a veteran and now I teach high school English to 10th graders/special education students. I was asked to sponsor the ASL club at my high school this year, but I have been embarrassingly separated from the community since leaving my hometown (where my deaf mother lives) over 20 years ago. I live about 30 miles from Gallaudet though, so I know I should be able to really connect my HI and HoH students with our community through the club. That's what led me here!
