I totally DISAGREE with any Deaf who want to have Cochlear Implants!!! its like they DONT ACCEPT THAT they re DEAF! WE accept who we are as we were born!

I know a person who sneaked off and it and now this person say can hear bird chripping! and can hear neddle drop ! Whoppie! (my friend who is a hearing and she is coda ) said she heard NO bird chripping at all when he said he "heard it" scoffs and Sorry everyone this thing called Cochlear Implants is like making yourself into an half Robot and putting machine in your head ! EXCUSEHUA ME! that sucks!!!! WHY DO U WANNA TO HEAR if you can not hear when this stupid (F***Ing is placed inside your head and you still cant hear??? DUH! I totally DISAGREE with this stupid thing! I would like to hear from others! COME ON give it to me!

IT is everyone's business not yours. I decided to get one because I am hard of hearing all my life. I am still proud being hard of hearing/deaf but I still want Ci no matter what.

The reason why people can hear a lot is because they are forced to it and haven't quite developed selective hearing.

Hearing people develop selective hearing so they don't always pay attention to other sounds that's not important. For a deaf person getting CIs for the first time, it's difficult to develop selective listening skills. Sometimes, it's impossible. I've heard of some people saying that they can't stand other students tapping their pencils on their desks during class.

I wear hearing aids and I can still hear birds chirping. However, there are times when I don't even hear the birds because I'm not paying attention. If I suddenly stopped what I was doing and took the time to listen, then I would hear the birds.

I can hear some birds sing or chrip IF I am only really pay attention to the birds. I cannot hear the wood pecker pecking the trees. My friend with CI can hear it from inside the house! I was like REALLY??? wow!

I know I do not expect to hear EVERYTHING. I do not expect to hear music or something. I will find out myself after I get hook up in few months or so.

Thanks to my dog, chewed my hearing aids! I have to borrow till I get CI. Brat puppy I got! Oh well! It happens. Now I am more careful where I put it and hide on higher place.

I'VE BEEN WANTING IT SO I CAN HEAR AND UNDERSTAND ALOT BETTER SO MAYBE I CAN ATTEND TO COLLEGE BY NEXT YEAR. IF IT'S A PROBLEM TO YOU THEN WHY ARE YOU IN THIS THREAD? In my opinion, Every Deaf individuals has choices in what option(s) that would work best for them. Those who chooses CI are willing to be involved in intensive rehabilitation services, learning speech, picking up certain sounds. Remember hearing aids don't work for every deaf individuals expertly those who had limited benefit from hearing aids, or none or alit.

While some deaf individuals chooses to stick with hearing aids that shown limited benefits or none or alit, still uses their speech, signs and lipreading.

Cochlear Implants isn't for every deaf individuals, Some who had their CI, doesn't successfully like others who had successful. It widely depends on the individuals. Guess some have to find out if it'll work for them or not.

But how in the world am I bashing someone? Yes I did read the rules before I signed on alldeaf, I do know how to READ.... But this person who posted on this thread was basically bashing others about cochlear implants and maybe some people do get offended by it. I'm only expressing my own feelings on this thread just like anyone else would do... I don't harm others and pretty much likely I don't bash people.. If it's a problem feel free to share it with me...... I'll do the same
