I forgot to mention the why behind this. It has been stated by some that cochlear implant sugery is so barbaric, does not seem to me to be anymore barbaric than any other out-patient procedure. I had one or two out-patient procedures in my time.

It's not. That is simply another way to attack parents who choose it for their children, and scare those about to make the decision.
