I'm all for cloning for the curing of disease, but not for making a copy of myself. If we outright ban it in america, we'll be at the mercy of forign countrys/companys (can anyone say forign oil) for getting what we want. It amazes me what we could possibly do for ourselves with a little bit of research, and other countrys will be doing it without us, why be left behind?

hmm cloning... sounds instering... i agree in cloning to make more armies.. so we americans citizen don't need to join armies.. just cloning peeps.. :-X just like the movie from star wars..

Let me give a double-sided perspective on this cloning issue...

When you are cloned, DNA will be exactly the same. However, nothing else will be exactly the same. A clone can grow up differently from the original depending on how he/she is raised. Suppose one clone was raised and developed mental problems. That leads this person to commit murder. Now, they do DNA research and match that DNA with the original. Who's to blame? They've got the DNA to prove who the killer is... but who's the killer? For all we know, the original probably snapped and got pissed off because he/she was cloned and decided to go on a murder rampage. Maybe, it was the clone that did it. It could be anything.

Now, it could be a good thing. It allows us to create stem cells. Stem cells are researched to help cure Alzhiemer's. They also help grow damaged nerved in people who are paralyzed. It may not be exactly the best thing to happen at first, but cloning people could lead to advanced cloning... meaning cloned arms, hearts, organs, etc. When that happens, then we can easily replace specific body parts without worrying that the body may reject it.

re-read my post on what i said, then we dont need a double sided anything.

You know me, I hate taking sides.

That would be a nice if the sciencist can clone my car. I can get it brand new one instead of buy another car.

Negative about clone human. It will cause conflict in the criminal, work place, wrongful accuse each other

Positive: clone some of human part of body like to transplant new liver, heart, kidney, etc.. to keep our live much longer.

God forbid it !

My understanding of your main concern about this issues cloning.. by the way... simlair like 6th of sense Arnold Schzwgr has cloning (not real life person) just acting movie.. so there have marked of clone on the eye lids inside.. proven that cloning.. it will finds DNA to verfity specific ones. Will not comes being blamed on you real flesh and cloning..
Just my theory.. kind of crap theory..
I'm too kind DUMB answer this.. Just copied imaging simlair like 6th of sense.. ((chuckles))..
By the way..

That's a nice idea... however, how are you going to afford the food and housing for 5 people?

I can see why now Illustrator has an infant girl pic for his avatar. LMAO!

I'm completely against cloning...and I dont believe there's a point in life for cloning, even if you just use them for curing disease and stuff, that's still not good enough because it's almost impossible to make the disease excint.

So why cloning? so you can live longer? sorry but another copy of you just won't help...the REAL you would have a real life while the clone would proably be used as a subject or whatever but proably wont be treated as a human begin or something...again, I dont believe in cloning and I dont think there's a point in life for cloning for ANYTHING and if a person dies, then EVERYTHING has a reason for that...so stop cheating death and move on.
